OVERVIEW

Event Dates Nov 9, 2017 2:00 pm AKST - Nov 11, 2017 10:30 pm AKST.

Join us for a gathering of 200+ Native college students representing more than 50 tribes and ask once again: “Would Jesus Eat Frybread?” This year's theme is "Making All Things New," an exploration of the Creator's renewal of our world.

The Would Jesus Eat Frybread? conference (WJEF) is a gathering for Native students who come from across North America and Pasifika to:

  • Meet other Native college students who are investigating following Jesus while honoring their peoples, cultures, and traditions.
  • Learn from tribal elders as they offer their wisdom, experiences, and stories.
  • Learn to walk in beauty in the midst of abuse and oppression by following the Jesus way.
  • Share the gifts that Creator has placed in your culture.
  • Seek healing through prayer.
  • Discover your place in the story of hope and restoration that Creator is writing.
  • Be sent back to your campus with a full belly and a happy heart.

SUPPORT

This year we are giving away copies of the First Nations Version of the Bible (a paraphrase contextualized for Native peoples) gospel of Luke  and  Ephesians for participants.  Our Bible studies will be from Luke at WJEF this year.  We know of some students registered who are just beginning to consider Jesus, so they may not have a Bible.  By special arrangement with the author, we are able to obtain copies for about $6.50 per book.  Please consider making a donation of some Bibles!  Follow this link to donate.  Learn more about the version at www.firstnationsversion.com.
